Distance Learning ~ Notary Exam Prep

In this course you will be given a specific review of the subjects tested on the Notary Exam using the 2009 Edition of "Louisiana Civil Code (LCC), a 2-volume publication by Thomson/West, edited by A.N. Yiannopoulos, ISBN #978-0-314-98286-5. This book will be needed for the open-book portion of the Notary Exam.  It is available at the LSUS Bookstore at a cost of $136.00 plus tax (price is subject to change).

The 2009 Notary Public Official Study Guide is available through the Secretary of State's Office, the publisher. Order forms are accepted by mail, fax or email. Complete and return the Notary Public Study Guide Order Form with appropriate payment (check, money order or credit card), and the book will be mailed to you.  Order forms are avail-able at the following website http://www.sec.state.la.us/notary-pub/notary-exam.htm#study  PLEASE bring book with you on first day of class.

Out-of-State Residents:  Louisiana residents only are allowed to take the Louisiana State Notary Exam.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The next EXAM date is DECEMBER 5, 2009.   Applications can be found at
www.sos.louisiana.gov or call (225) 922-0507 for further information.  You MUST register for the December 5 exam by October 21, 2009 - NO EXCEPTIONS.

To register for the distance learning Notary Prep Program, please select the school site in which you will be attending for the course.

Paralegal Credit: Upon successfully passing the statewide Notary exam, students can use their Notary Commission in the place of one (1) course in the Paralegal Institute (The Legal Research & Writing and the Basic & General courses can not be substituted.)   Students must show proof of passing the Notary Exam (ex. Notary Commission) in order to receive credit. Paralegal registration fees do not apply to this course.
