Notary Public Exam Prep (44 Hrs) Distance Learning

The 44 Hours of Instruction will be offered through compressed video delivery. Instructor will be at the LSUS location.

The rumors are true, the Notary Exam is DIFFICULT. This 44-hour course is an introduction to notary public fundamentals, with an emphasis on the multiple choice and research portions of the statewide exam.

This course will give a specific review of the subjects tested on the Notary Exam using the current Edition of "Louisiana Civil Code (LCC)" which is a 2-volume publication by Thomson/West, edited by A.N. Yiannopoulos, also used for open-book portion of the Notary Exam. Available at the LSUS Bookstore for $266.70 plus tax (price is subject to change).

Also required is the 2014 Edition of: "Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice," the Louisiana Notary Public examination official study guide, which is available through The Louisiana Secretary of State Web Site
The 2014 edition is required. $90 (subject to change) PLEASE ORDER THIS BOOK BEFORE the first day of class!

Out-of-State Residents: are not permitted to take this exam.

Registration with the La. Secretary of State is APRIL 23, 2014. Forms for applying can be found at or call (225) 922-0507 for further information. You MUST register for the JUNE 7 exam by APRIL 23, 2014 - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Paralegal Credit: Upon successfully passing the statewide Notary exam, students can use their Notary Commission in the place of one (1) course in the Paralegal Institute (The Legal Research & Writing and the Basic & General courses can not be substituted.) Students must show proof of passing the Notary Exam (ex. Notary Commission) in order to receive credit. Paralegal registration fees do not apply to this course.
