Desiree Alexander Ms. Desiree Alexander, Ed.S. is an award-winning, multi-degreed educator who has been in the educational field for fourteen years. She is currently the Instructional Technology Supervisor for Caddo Parish Public Schools. She is the founder of Educator Alexander, an educational consulting business. She consults with members of several schools/businesses and presents at conferences nationwide.

Ms. Alexander is lifetime certified in Louisiana in Secondary English Education, as a Reading Specialist, as a School Librarian, as an Educational Technology Facilitator and in Educational Leadership 1. She is certified in Texas as a Principal, in English Language Arts and Reading for grades 4-8 and grades 8-12, as a Reading Specialist for grades EC-12, and as a School Librarian. She is currently seeking certification as an Educational Technology Leader.

She holds a Bachelor, a Master + 30, and an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University. She holds a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman's University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Educational Leadership with a concentration in Educational Technology Leadership from Nicholls State University.

She is the 2015 Librarian of the Year for Louisiana Librarian Association, 2014 Leader of the Year for Region 2 Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators, and her recent campus's 2015 Teacher of the Year in the Zachary Community School District. She also sits on the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educator's Board of Directors.

Radi Baltov Radi Baltov is a former head coach and player of the Shreveport-Bossier Lions Pro Soccer Team. He was a Pro Soccer player in Bulgaria. Currently he is Coaching Director for USC. He has Master's Degree in Physical Education and Soccer.

Dr. Richie Bell, Jr. Dr. Richie Bell, Jr. is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana and holds (3) PhDs in Theology. He is a graduate of United Theological Seminary and Bible College-and the Inter Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Certified Insurance Instructor specifically for the State of Louisiana. He has a phenomenal knowledge concerning the insurance industry and how to obtain your insurance license. Dr. Richie Bell, Jr. has 11 years of Instructor's experience. He began instructing in 2006, and was granted by the State of Louisiana in 2008 a certification to pursue his personal Pre-Licensing School. Statewide Insurance Specialists Services has one of the highest pass ratios averaging throughout the entire State of Louisiana. You will enjoy engaging in the victorious study of the Insurance Industry, as Dr. Richie Bell, Jr. vividly make the subject of insurance more comprehensible to pass your State Exam on the first attempt.

Henry Bennett Henry Bennett is the owner of Surveillance Technologies Inc., a private investigative agency.  He has extensive experience as a private investigator and in retail sales of surveillance technology equipment in the industry.  His experience as a police officer, investigator, and his expertise of the latest technology in the industry, brings to the classroom a richness of academics, experience, and advanced industry related knowledge.  His experience in the classroom for over 10 years has resulted in excellent student evaluations

In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Bennett brings to the classroom years of police training/experience as well as years of private investigator field experience.  Mr. Bennett has expertise in criminal and civil investigations.  He has testified in the court system and is recognized as an expert in witness locations.

Mr. Bennett has been recognized for his knowledge by being a frequent guest speaker at educational classes, seminars, featured on TV, new articles, and on radio.  Mr. Bennett is the author of the Surveillance Chapter in the LSBPIE Basic Training Manual.

Perhaps the most popular expertise of Mr. Bennett is his extensive knowledge of the technology of the industry.  Mr. Bennett is sought after by local police departments for his knowledge of surveillance equipment involving criminal cases as well as security.  Few instructors bring this expertise into the classroom.

Henry Bennett has instructed at LSU, Delgado- West Bank, Nunez Community College, Metropolitan Community College, and is currently the instructor for the 40-hour P.I. course and 8-hour licensed P.I. continuing education course at LSUS, ULM and ULL.  Many of Mr. Bennett's former students are successful in the field of private investigations and often contact him for advice on specific cases.

Deborah Burns Business Owner: Deborah's Touch, Inc.
Deborah is President of Deborah's Touch Inc., a national medical transcription service.  Deborah's Touch provides medical transcription to medical facilities and has been in business for 20 years.  The staff includes on-site office and clerical, as well as 35 home-based medical transcriptionists.

Deborah teaches business course on a monthly basis for colleges and adult learning programs.  The facilities include Mira Costa College (Oceanside, CA), Rochester Info (Rochester, NY), First Class (D.C.), and Northeast Education (San Antonio, TX).

Helped design books and reference materials used in medical transcription programs.

Taught medical transcription and word processing through a Phoenix-based community college 1992/93.  Currently serves as a consultant to various colleges and medical transcription training programs throughout the U.S.

Educational Testing

Sally Hamer Sarah (Sally) Hamer has been teaching adult education classes in the Northwest Louisiana area since 1987.  She has also been a certified instructor for the Concept Therapy Institute for over twenty years, helping people to discover their full potential through understanding themselves. 

She also has been teaching both beginning and advanced creative fiction writing at LSU-S since 2002.  She writes in many genres - mystery, science fiction, fantasy, romance, medieval history, non-fiction - and has won many awards at both local and national levels.  She is eternally fascinated by people and how they 'tick' and has learned to incorporate individual idiosyncrasies to create living, breathing characters in her many works of fiction. 

Ms. Hamer continues to strive to make her classes informative and educational for all levels of writers, from beginners to experienced authors.  She helps create an atmosphere of camaraderie in the classroom and gives everyone a chance to share their own experiences with each other. 

Ms. Hamer also teaches 'For our Children's Children, Writing Family Histories' and 'Journaling - Not Just Dear Diary Anymore' as well as business classes for LSU-S.

Liz Haynes Liz has been teaching dance at LSUS Continuing Education since January 1992.  Sonny began teaching with Liz in 1993.  Liz is the owner of Dancin' Country Style Inc. and has taught dance workshops across the United States. 

Liz is the winner of numerous trophies and awards from national dance competitions and serves as a  competition dance judge for local events.

Don Huguley Don is a Certified National Rifle Association Instructor and NRA Life member. He is a retired USAF Lt Col and currently works at Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale AFB. Don teaches the NRA Refuse to be a Victim class at LSU-S. He is also a Louisiana Conceal Carry Instructor, teaches many other NRA courses and is a Shooting Sports Director for the local Norwela Council - Boys Scouts of America teaching rifle, shotgun, muzzle-loading and archery. Don holds a BS in Biology from LSU-S, BS in Geology from Centenary and a MS in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas.

David Hylan

Robin Jones Robin has been teaching the Notary Public Exam Prep course for approximately 8 years. She is currently a Research Attorney at the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal for the State of Louisiana, which helps her keep current on all aspects of state law. Before going to the Court of Appeal, Robin was in private practice for 4 years, and before that worked several years as a real estate/business paralegal in a large New Orleans law firm. Robin is avidly involved in the Notary Public examination process, having been one of the instructors advising in the early days of the statewide test formation in 2005. Since then, she has traveled to Baton Rouge to meet with the examination committee to discuss the exam and provide feedback from the students and instructors. "I feel strongly that the quality of applicants is excellent, and I personally care about their success on the exam. Additionally, regardless of whether an applicant passes the test or not, I can guarantee that they leave my class with an excellent overview of the civil law in Louisiana."

Mrs. Washington has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Physics. As an esteemed technical professional with over 15 years’ experience working in the STEM field, Mrs. Washington is paving the way for quality STEM education in Northwest Louisiana. Mrs. Washington founded Young Scholars and developed curriculums designed to get children excited about learning. Young Scholars provides educational opportunities for children in grades k-12, career readiness programs for college students, professional development instruction for educators, and serves as a resource for schools and organizations. Mrs. Washington has demonstrated success in the field of STEM. She previously worked in product design, research, taught STEM subjects at the college level, received numerous awards, co-authored undergraduate engineering lab manuals, and was also interviewed and profiled on the American Physical Society’s website. Mrs. Washington is very active in the STEM community, serving as a Judge for the Regional Science and Engineering Fair and member of several national STEM and science education organizations. Mrs. Washington is pleased to offer Young Scholars programs at LSU Shreveport and looks forward to a collaboration that will enhance and enrich the community.
