Welcome to the LSUS Continuing Education PN Program!

More than 383 students have completed the LSUS Continuing Education PN Program…you could be next!! The Practical Nurse (PN) is an integral part of the health-care team, working under the direction of a licensed physician, optometrist, dentist, or registered nurse. The LSUS CE PN program is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nursing. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, you will be prepared to sit for the national licensor exam for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).

LSUS offers two Practical Nursing programs:

Day (12-month/ 3 semesters) Classes are held Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm (6:45am to 3:15pm for clinicals) for a total of 1,540 clock hours (730 theory and 810 clinical).

We are still taking registrations for the August 2018 day program. The deadline is May 25, 2018 and the start date is August 31, 2018.

The start date for the January 2019 Day class is January 11, 2019. The deadline is September 14, 2018.

Evening (20-month/ 5 semesters). This program is perfect for those individuals who work full-time. It will be held Monday thru Thursday from 5:00pm-10:30pm for a total of 1,540 clock hours (730 theory and 810 clinical). The start date for the May 2019 Evening class is May 24, 2019. The deadline is March 1, 2019.

Admissions Information to be considered for either Program, all applicants must provide the following by the deadline dates listed:

1. LPN Application, $20 application fee

2. Essay on why you want to be a nurse & why you chose our program

3. Official high school transcript or GED/HISET

4. Original Birth Certificate (personnel will copy)

5. Official test scores on approved standardized tests within 3 years.

6. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended.

If test scores are not provided, applicants must pass the ACCUPLACER test. Three part test is offered at LSUS for $10 each, total of $30 Monday-Friday, at 9:30am OR 1:30pm. You must schedule an appointment. Call Cheryl at (318) 798-4177 to schedule an appointment. Payment s MUST be made at time of scheduling.

Program Costs (approximate) Day (12-month/ 3 semesters)-$14,161.99

Evening (20-month/ 5 semesters)-$14,320.30

The price is subject to change. Payments for this program are made on a per-semester basis. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.

TESTING CENTER REFUND POLICY:

Testing appointments must be scheduled in advance and can be rescheduled only once. Testing fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for any reason once a test has been started.  No refunds made for missed appointments.
